Alright shiners, this timing is just a little weird. Since getting home at about noon, there hase been a copter in the air over my house. Three diferent copters so far, one is always "on station"! I'm starting to question just how much the nutcase holled up in his house about 6 blocks over is really driving this??? Story here..

I mean c'mon, it takes about 10min to start a great distraction that allows the influx of military hardware, especially here in SD!

Great!!!

And I thought I was a little paranoid, Kevin...

....just in... Government control of Porsche drivers started this morning, when a swat team stormed the house of a man in San Diego, who goes by the screen name of "ibkevin." Authorities say "ibkevin" allegedly removed military equipment from his own Porsche, an offense punishable by fine, not to exceed $100,000, revocation of driver's license for a period not more than 2 years, & impoundment of front-engined water-cooled Porsche... Authorities say that rear-engined Porsche owners are immune at this time, as they are "real Porsches" & only front-engined water-cooled Porsches have been tracked & targeted. Authorities refuse to comment as to why, but inside sources tell us it's because "they're just too fast!" & "... are too much competition for the little cars with the big butts..." Authorities are still debating whether or not to include the last two versions of 911's since, while they are water-cooled, they're also rear-engined... Authorities are still confused as to what this means. But, sources say, that in an attempt to work with perplexed US authorities, Porsche may actually go back to air-cooled 911's, thus allleviating any misunderstandings. If this happens, all water-cooled 911's owners will have to report to the nearest DMV for proper registration & "little black box" installation...

I know what it is ! This is an emergency escape hatch. Hatch is fine itself, but germans just screwed the design of access to it. They covered their shame by the carpet.

Hmm, escape hatch? So the underbody coating is an anti magnetic paste to prevent limpet mines from sticking?

What's a "limpet mine"? I don't like the sound of it. Can the effects be countered with Viagra?

No, Viagra only enhances the "explosion".

Based on the moto logo on it... Sounds like an "old school" cellphone amp from the analog days... Does the option sticker show a "195" ? ( Prepared for cellular telephone)

based on what I recall of tearing apart the parts car, it should be a box of Ferro-Roche from 1995.

That was going to be my guess... cellphone, when Kevin said that about the antenna... His could be different than mine. I'm thinking mine is just the shape of the floor board, the ridges, but I'll check it out more closely later, to make sure the Porsche police aren't tracking me... I don't intend to pull up any carpet to find out though- not anytime soon- when I go to put some new seats in, I might do it then... still have to decide what seats to put in before that though & then I have to come up w/the $....

Great....I already had the Black Eyed Peas song running through my head, and now thanks to Manning I have a twisted vision of a fish that looks like Don Knotts singing "Lady Lumps".......

I have the 10 speaker option in my 968 and the lump under the passenger seat carpet is indeed a small alpine amplifier (I think it is about 7 watts per channel) that came straight from the factory.

I think I have pics of it somewhere if someone is really interested.

Phil
