The 88 924S that I sold to buy my 928 was the SE version with club sport options, M030 suspension and koni's. It was black, had manual windows and seats, AC, sunroof. It was a fun little car and is still here in the neighbourhod, so I get to see it from time to time.

Care to elaborate on what exactly designates it as a "Club Sport"? Having "sport" running gear, that is to say having M030, or "sporting suspension" option M474 doesn't make it a Club Sport.

hey that is correct, my SE does not have the M030 option code BUT it does have original koni yellows on it, but i can't tell you if it has the torision bar or w/e that is that i'm forgetting the name of.
as to brett jenkins i dont think your car was the SE version as its got the passenger side mirror, not to mention they are way to big.
check here for the club sport version.

of couse this is just speculation in a way, but this is where i got my info from.
So also WolfeMacleod turns out that 924 is the SE version not the club sport. but thats still a sweet car, its an exact duplicate of my 88 SE. burgundy interior 'n such

The SE that I parted out, did not have a passanger side mirror. It had the burg carpet, with the grey flannel seats, with burg pinstripe . It was black ,and had 6 and 7" phone dials on it.

This is like the 944 cars that could be ordered with a "Club Sport Option" package (which doesn't get you much, look it up), but they were not "944 Club Sport" cars. Unlike the 968 Club Sport, the 911 Club Sport, the 911 RS Club Sport, etc. Those are special cars that are factory designated Club Sports that are very minimalist and where the nomenclature really gets you something.

The PO added the passenger side mirror. He also had the phone-dials chromed, which looked very nice. Mine had the burgund/grey pinstripe interior as Todd mentions. He

If I recall they did have wider rear wheels, manual windows/mirrors, cloth, and also it seems you could get a factory manualy latched glass moonroof. could be wrong. cool car anyway-whatever its called

you are probably right-aftermarket. Here in Charleston S.C. we used to have the Porsche distribution center for the east coast. The former director of that facilaty; a great owner and enthusiast of Porsche(also sold me my 24s ,that he purchased new from the factory, with 56k original garage kept miles) told me that some of the '88 924s "lightweights" had this type of roof. He seemed a little uncertain and so am I.

Thought I would wake up this post, rather than repost....
I found a similar car to the one that started me down this path in the first place. This one has M030, 756 and a couple other option codes. Single outside mirror, plaid interior; 6 and 7" wheels. Sunroof. No rear wiper. 80K miles. Potential drawbacks are original clutch and cracked dash. Positives?- 2 nd owner. All documents (window sticker, manuals (factory and aftermarket) and extensive and maintanence records.) Overall paint looks pretty good, with the expected stone chips in front. Original paint. Great panel gaps. Straight. Also has 7/8x16 "street" wheels. No fender lips rolled.
Guy is asking over $6k. I know for many, this would be "turbo" money. I don't want a turbo. I want an N/A. I want a solid car WITH a known history. Not searching for a project or "cheap" car I can dump tons of money into. Care to share some thoughts about the car and price?

6k is definitly too much. i paid 3k for my SE with 107k on the dial and ok paint etc, good interior, but cracked dash. i'd pay around 4k for the one your are looking at, although it all depends on you, it would make one hell of a track car for sure. how many miles does this one have?
