Lightbulb vid: new pump seal installation, what cha think?

I have been having a blast with the new camera lately and shot the installation of the pump seal kit install since it is the easiest. Its a little over 7 min. long but I got it down to around 8 mb.

Take a look at it and let me know what you think.

I shot clips of the rack reseal and also the ball joint rebuild procedure which I may start cutting up this weekend. The ball joint rebuild (unedited) is about 6 min. of footage so it should be a breeze. The rack on the other hand is a little over an hour....

Looks great Travis, that will really help folks doing this procedure. 8 mb for 7 minutes really isn't too bad..but then that rack seal procedure is going to be 70 mb, ouch. Maybe put it on a CD and ship with the kits?

Oh, one more thought for you, latex gloves!

A guy once explained to me that the worst part about rebuilding his motor was getting the grease out from under his fingernails. He instantly lost most of his credibility.

The latex glove thing.... I thought about it but I wanted to take a shot of the real procedure with no pretty fluff around it. A "this is how its done, watch as I really do it" type clip. Dirty hands and all.

But.. if you guys all think gloved hands would be more effective then let me know. I may dawn a pair for the next shoot.

Sweet. You need to develop a timing belt kit, that way you can make a timing belt / roller replacement video

Screw the gloves. I think the concept of sharing maintenance procedures via a viewable format is outstanding... fine contribution to the community man.

Travis, I was mostly joking about the latex glove thing, I admire your willingness to get your hands dirty, literally. I use them because I need to keep my hands perty for my 'real' job.

On a much more serious note, I think the video is very well done, that it's a great contribution to the commmunity and that it will really help differentiate you from the competition (can you tell marketing is my real job?).

Keep up the good work, I love the blue fuel lines that I bought from you recently BTW.

I always wear nitrile gloves when I work on cars. It's so nice not to be digging dirt and crap out from under my fingernails, and if I don't end up arm-deep in my engine, clean-up is always a breeze. At $7/box of 100, it can't be beat

I haven't downloaded the procedure yet, but I expect it is excellent

Finally got a chance to check out the video. It's great! Perfect for the DIY guy that's a little short on experience. I can only imagine how neat it would be to have more of those procedures available.

Keep up the good work.

I wholeheartedly agree, a good set of repair videos would be killer.

I'll bet you that clark's garage would match them up with their procedures.
