Default Who else here is from Orange County, CA?

Shout out, guys and girls! Are there any local clubs, or informal "wrenching" groups in Orange County? OC, California that is - not the OC on the other coast!

This is my first 944 and I could use a little help sometimes...willing to trade pizza and beers for a little muscle wrenching on it, or maybe join a group fix-it party.

Anyone interested?

Jon, welcome to the 'list.

I'm in Fullerton - Yorba Linda & the 57 area. Nobody around here knows me or my car very well - I'm a lamer and don't want to "apologize" for anything wrong with my car, so I just work on it incessantly and don't go to meets out of shame But it's getting there, so I'll be showing up for drives and such in the future.

Dude, I promise you my car is rougher cosmetically than most of them in OC! Nothing to worry about! Droopy front fascia, dents and dings, torn seats...yeah, she's a looker. HA! it's ok, mechanically she's a tank and I drive the snot out of her!

There are a bunch of us in OC. Porsche-O-Phile (Jeff), Legoland (Frank), Devia (Julie), KellyChiu (Kelly), Eyal, myself...we haven't organized anything in a while but I am hoping we will soon. Are you interested in hanging out, wrenching, group drives, track day events...??? I know a few of us are going to a track day @ Cali Speedway (Fontana) mid-March. I'm sure the more, the merrier! We will also be prepping a couple cars to get ready for that event so you could probably help us wrench if you wanted. Drop me a line or throw up a post!

Oh, and Trevor...that quote is Ferrris...Day Off, right? When his sister is in the police station?

I'd be up for helping with anything in OC. Hanging out, wrenching (especially wrenching), group drives, race day...this all sounds great to me.

It would ne nice to get some other opinions on things too, like my vibration at idle...is is normal or do I need to put in the motor mounts? I might be worrying about something that is just "part of the charm" of the 944.

Whenever you guys decide to get together, let me know. I am available mostly on the weekends and some evenings. Going with a group to Fontana sounds like fun, especially in a P-car caravan!

I'm what you call an occasional so-cal Rennlister... I caught one meet so far... it was a long drive... and great fun! It may happen soon again... if I have a job by spring break and find a nice turbo, I'm gonna go pick it up. if it's in so-cal, that'd be awesome, as we'd need a gtg...

I'm there in spirit -- currently living in NorCal and working in SoCal. (don't ask... it's complex....)

Yea, I'm in OC semi-regularly too. Would be kinda' nice to catch another good GTG one of these days. . . Need a break from my own cars. I'd love the opportunity to kick back, drink a beer or two and watch someone else suffer wrenching for a change. . . And of course there are those tall fish stories about how fast we've all gone. . . "on the track" of course.

It's an '88 Turbo S. I picked it up in April of '05 from a fellow rennlister.

Say, since we have a bunch of OC folks in this thread, can anyone point me to a good porsche mechanic? I've heard there is a decent place in Fullerton, but I can't recall the name...

It's a Silberossa, right? We'll have to compare notes when we get a chance (my car is currently in desperate need of a clutch job....).
