Default 968 Mirrors / Handles

I am looking to see what 968 mirrors and handles go for, $$ wise. Also, looking to buy a set of both if possible. I am getting some paint work done in a month or two, so that would be the best time to get them to get them painted and put them on. If anyone has some for sale, send me a PM or if anyone knows where to get them, send me a PM. Thanks!!

Check with Sunset Porsche. They usually have them in stock and sell them at the best prices new.

well used it varies. I got a set of powered 968 mirrors for $275 shipped. Most 968 handles sell close to what you could get them for brand new at sunset imports. I think it was around $211 last time I emailed them. Thats probably what Im going to do - but always like to look around first.

New the powered 968 mirrors are quite expensive. I think in the 500 range. (dont quote me though)

Honestly, I can't recall. I remember there was a price increase on the power mirrors in the last year or so. Do a search for them and email/call the parts department. I'm certain they know the price off the top of their head.

Were you wearing a black mask and brandishing a six-shooter?

hmmmmmm

Yes, the manual mirrors are lighter.

And a little cheaper. But the guts for them are different from the power ones (obviously) and not easily sourced. Sometimes Sunset can get them , other times they are difficult to get. They are the same set up that was found on the 968 Club Sport and have 965 part#'s for the internals. Keep in mind that if you go manual, you will have two switch blank holes to fill (the one on the console in front of the shifter and the *** on the drivers door).

I actually just sent an email to Sunset asking about the price on the manual mirrors, will let you guys know what they tell me.

Id rather have the manual mirrors anyway, my mirrors are disonnected right now anyway. Have had it like that since i bought a set of side mirrors (from Tifo actually) about one year ago.

I think the aero mirrors may look funky on my '80-s esque 944 n/a front clip...but they will look good from the side and behind .

Tifo, i just got an email back from Sunset, they said i would need to get the manual mirror kit for the 911 and use the 968 door mounts. Does this sound right to you?

Cost was aprox...

911 mirrors - $287.44
968 door mounts - $37.10 each
Gaskets - $2.48 each

Jon, I searched email, pm's, and previous checks for a sale figure on my set but no love. Keep in mind the Euro's effects on our new parts.

Powered versions must be all of 8oz lighter. Motors are super light!

mirror housing - 965.731.243/4.00 - l&r
mirror mount - boxes got thrown out
base gasket - 944.731.247/8.00 - l&r

OT: Did you notice that everyone in this thread has a red car? And I thought they were rare.
