the car is worth like 2500 in its condition, thats why its not selling. 3500 for an early na would be absolutly perfect.

Are you advertising everywhere that you can for little or no money? Every SCCA and PCA Region has a newsletter with a classified section. Try taking the car to a local auto-x or track event with large "For Sale" signs on it. Many local "trading post"-type newspapers offer free classifieds. Autotrader.com is a biggie. Gotta work it! Good luck.

I'm thinking 2300 ish, real-world street price.

Cars are a horrible investment, that's for sure. I had a VW Corrado that I paid $5800 for. Over the course of 3 years, I spent roughly $15,000 on her...encompassing 2 engine rebuilds, a crapload of engine work on the last engine making nearly 300hp, full suspension, brakes, and some carbon/kevlar parts.

I sold the car for 6,900. It's currently for sale in Minnesota, and the seller can't get 6,500 for it.

The problem is you paid less than 1k for a car and now want to sell it for 3500 but it looks EXACTLY THE SAME. (on the outside) Most of the public would buy a shiney car with a dirty as heck engine before the other way around. Sad. I sold my wifes Neon and the guy never opened the hood! He did not even want the 6 years of Recipts and work log for the car! I had to explain why it was good to have those.

I have to agree with everyone else here. Unfortunately, a nice paint job is much more likely to woo those who haven't done thier 944 homework than are receipts for work done. Appearance is important....

It's a $1500 car. Sorry. You have to get over how much you put into it, that means nothing.

Yeah, this was a learning experiene for me. This was the second car I ever bought, and I wanted it to be a project, and I guess I thought since 944s usually sell for $3500 in good condition, that I could fix mine up to good condition and sell it someday. I equated good cosmetic condition (which sells) with good mechanical condition (which apparently doesn't).

Wow, this really stinks. I have it on craigslist, but I'll toss it up onto autotrader, the classifieds on a few forums, and maybe ebay. I'd have the fender and mirrors painted, but I'm worried they'd stand out from the rest of the car.

I'll let you know in 1 day 22 hours and 45 minutes if I want those KYB inserts.

btw, use rubbing compound and an orbital buffer on it if you want the shine to come back.

my car is in my icon (red with the 18" turbo twists)
