Shipping a car 1400 miles
Well, my move to New hampshire from Memphis looks favorable, so I need to find out if anyone has shipped a car (aproximately 1400 miles)?
Who did you use and aproximately how much is it? I may have both cars shipped and drive a U Haul or get a car dolly for the VW and ship the Porsche depending on the price.

I shipped one that distance using a open carrier going terminal to terminal for $600. That was a low a price as I could find from a well rated car hauler. The owner droped it off at a terminal (trucking terminal) and I picked it up on my end. Door to door is more and you have to have a location that a big truck can get into. Covered trucks also add to the cost.

With the weather being what it is up here now, and the TONS of salt being dumped on the roads, either use a closed hauler or see if you can park it down there with a friend til spring. The closed ones aren't cheap. My buddy had his 911 hauled up from FLA and I think it cost him over 1K. He did the door-to-door and I think he used Intercity.

Anywhere from 600-1500 depending on the carrier. We use concourse transport, which is an enclosed trailer, but it will run you around 1500 to use them. Usually they show up to pick up/drop off a car, and there have been GT-40's, ferarris, lambos, a few cars for TV show shootoffs, etc inside. Brian was just here yesterday to pick up a car, but i didnt get a chance to go out and see what he had on the truck.

i think ebay has links to haulers.
also, just a suggestion, leave it down there until the warmer weather. when you go down to visit people (which you probably will do) enjoy the drive back.

I shipped my car from North Carolina to Boston suburbs for just over a grand last summer. Intercity Lines (Rennlist sponsor). Closed transport, GPS tracking, door to door service.
There is no one better.

I used Dependable Auto Shippers this past October to ship a car from VA to CO which was approximately 1,600 miles. This included picking up the car from the PO's home in VA and delivery to terminal in CO. The cost was $960. Overall I was satisified with their service.
