Default Momo horn is kicking my butt! Help!

Ok,

So I have the 928 pin, drilled the hole in the multi switch in pin 71. Figured out a way to attach the ground/horn lead to it. Do that, make sure the 928 pin is making contact with the momo hub. Plug the black wire from the hub into the horn button, run the other wire from the top ring of the hub to the horn.

Turn the car on, hit the horn, nothing! Pull the hub, make sure the 928 pin is making contact, still nothing. Pull the multi switch, make sure the horn ground is on, yep.

I've done everything short of cutting off the factory connector from that horn ground and holding it up against the momo hub (which I don't wanna do just in case I ever put airbags back in the car) and the horn still doesn't freaking work!

Need a little help here. On a positive note, I was successful in wiring past the airbag computer, no warning lights and the car did start, but I want my horn to work dammit!

I chose to do this but in a way I could splice it back together if I need to.

Yeah, I'd prefer not to, esp since it looks like a spade connector is all that's on the other end of that harness.

I just don't understand why the horn isn't working, I've made sure contact is being made, I just don't get it...

Are you sure the brass ring on the back of the hub adapter is making contact with the 928 contact? I had to raise the contact strip on the 928 slightly (like and inverted V shape) in order to get good contact with the hub.

Yep, pretty sure. I coated the momo ring with dielectric grease, when I pulled the hub, the 928 part had some grease on it...

Yeah, I've found that. There are two wires you need to hook up to the momo horn button tho, one comes from a grounding ring that's sandwiched between the hub and the steering wheel, the other should be coming from that plug, which I then plugged into the back of the 928 pin...

I remember cutting th horn wire, crimping on a female connector and connecting that to the pin on the 928 contact. The black wire on the hub conected to one of the tabs on the horn while the small jumper conntected to teh other horn tab and teh upper ring between the hub and sterring wheel.

Have you looked at your fuses to make sure you didn't blow it by accident?

Got it!! Took advantage of nap time and did a few tests. I got the horn to work, then played around and found that the 928 contact wasn't riding in the slot for the momo hub contact ring. Once I did that, everything worked great.

Of course all the horn honking woke up my daughter.

For the archive searchers....

I messed with that 928 part and couldn't figure out how to take the multi function switch off with out disassembling half the car. So instead, I took the brown with white stripe wire (what you'd connect to pin 71 or whatever) and spliced in a longer length with a spade connector on the end. I pried off the brass ring on the momo hub and ran the wire up the neck to the wheel. Attached the spade to the horn button. I figure I will run out of steering rack before running out of wire.
