Euro car headaches....need help
we got this euro car see...and it wouldnt start. its wiring was a mess with some aftermarket alarm thingy. dad yanked all that apart and redid the wiring..
still wouldnt start...no injector pulse, no fuel pump, and no spark. new fuel pump..and now it works. still had no pulse and spark. changed reference sensors..(PAIN IN THE ***) and now we have injector pulse. still no spark. changes ignition switch. still no spark. no spark as in no power to the coil. played around with 3 different DME's and dme relays. still no power to the coil. checked ALL grounds...still no power to the coil
wtf is going on....
all ignition components are fine. the coil might be bad but we should still see 12V at the wires...which we are not...
Its an 83 euro spec...

If you jump 12v to the positive coil terminal, do you have spark? If you do, the problem is on the source side.
If you put your VOM between the battery positive to the coil negative, does it fluctuate as you crank? If not, the issue is on the computer side.
Ignition is tricky because the "magic" is on the ground side. I would guess the alarm-ectomy either fried something or involved more circuits than you've restored.
Good luck,
Bill
