Default electrical gurus out there..

so this is kind of a weird problem. whenever i turn my wheel more than 45 degrees and hit a little bump, my windshield wipers turn on. I believe it has only happened when i turn right....any ideas? (im not hitting the lever with my hand when i turn)

What year car? Early or late 944? I suspect the wheel movement is triggering the wiper stalk- up on the wiper stalk would be "mist" delayed. Turning right would make sense.
pretty easy fix, need to pull the steering wheel and look at the wiper switch mech..

I would suggest pulling your steering wheel and taking apart the signal and wiper assemblies and cleaning them. Sounds like a bad contact in the assemblies. On earlies this is pretty easy, IIRC a 22mm deap socket, maybe a 24mm for the wheel and a small screwdriver. Havent tried it yet on a late column.

Disconnect your battery negative unless you want to wake up the neighborhood.

also, if it's only when you hit bumps, it may be because a spring or something is worn out. The bump is getting the switch to touch the contacts. That may mean you need to replace the whole mechanism.

The contacts are not spring driven that I know of on earlies, it is all about a bend in the metal/copper or whatever it is made of. That's why people hate these electrical systems. Bend here and there and it left the dealer working. Copper is a soft metal and over time will get bent out of shape. Just gotta play around with things. If you break it there are a LOT more out there.
