Default Wheel Question

I know what Fuch's look like (love them) and I am familiar with Turbo Twists and Cup I and Cup II's, as well as "Phone Dials", but what are "Cookie Cutters"? TIA

I used to get them mixed up with Fuch's until i saw a side by side comparison. I sometimes wish my car was early offset, sets of them usually sell for pretty cheaply on eBay and when color matched i think they look pretty good with most color cars.

Cookies are actually a Fuch's wheel. So are a lot of MB wheels. They were a wheel maufacturer that happened to build a nice looking wheel and Porsche owners now, some of them at least, it goes without saying. Carrera means "Race" in Spanish. Anyone wanna tell what it means in the Porsche world? Introduction of what?

Cookies are not Fuchs wheels, they are made by "ATS".

Will the Fuchs I've seen on numerous 944s fit on a 968? I like the black wheel with chrome ring look, and Fuchs just say Porsche with the proper attitude.

I believe Fuchs were the early offset and won't fit a post-85.5 944/968.

Fuchs were last available on 944's in 1986. No they will not. In 1987 the offsets changed. This was due to the change in suspension geometry for ABS.

Pre 1987 are considered "early" offset and '87 and after are "late" offset, of which your 968 falls under. So, for the 968 you can run D90's, Cup (1 and 2), Twists, some hollow spokes and others. The important thing to remember is the "offset" number. "late" offsets seem to be 52-55et. Early offsets are, 10-23et

Fuchs were forged and the cookie cutters were cast, I think. The Fuchs were lighter and stronger due to being forged.
