Default Car damaged during windstorm

We had a pretty good windstorm here in Oklahoma today. Couple of hours ago shingles started blowing off the roof. One of them hit my 944 and got stuck under the passenger side wiper. As the wind blew it back and forth it scraped the paint off of the hood and side panel. It looks like somebody took sandpaper to it. Bad thing is I only have liability on it. It was still a project so I didn't intend to drive it much. I didn't think it was worth the $$$ to fully insure a car that I only drive once a week, at most.

ouch, well touch it up and wait till you can paint the whole car if you were going to...you know its inevitable anyways.

I think it's beyond the touch up phase. I'll try to upload a pic in a few minutes.

Here's a pic. Hope this works. I've never posted a pic here before.

Maybe your homeowner's insurance will cover it?

Sorry about the damage! It does look beyond the touch-up phase. If you were not going to paint soon you can build it up with touch-up paint and color sand it out then buff it. It may not look perfect but it is better than what you have. I have done a key scratch along the complete side of a black car once and it came out good, you really had to look to see it. It does take some time and some patience.

I can vouch for the wind here, it was crazy at times. I would imagine gusts to 40 or 50mph all day!

I know it hit at least 70 at the airport. But to blow shingles off the roof it had to be higher than that where I live.

Epic I don't know about the homeowner's insurance. I've never heard of it covering anything but he house and what's in it.

I own a DARK color car and I have been able to buff out a LOT!! Give it a try with some good compounds before giving up hopes.

Yeah, I'm not sure. If it was in the garage you'd most likely be covered. Still, it was in the driveway, and it was a piece of the house that did the damage. It can't hurt to call them and ask.
