Default Are you a TRUE enthusiast?

So there is this guy I have been working with for the last 3 weeks or so. He told me that he had a 1973 911 when I first pulled up in the 968. However, he never mentioned that he had a full color Porsche crest tattooed on the back of his right lower leg!! Today he happened to wear shorts and I noticed it right away.

He is going to let me take a picture of it and post it up, but in the meantime let's hear some other stories about "over the top" enthusiasts.

I remember Jay out in Cali has the P-car crest tattooed on his upper arm - much easier to see!

Nothing over the top here, other than the usual excess number of P-cars. I get away with it since two of them "belong to" my wife...

True enthusiast? Not tattoo'd yet. But I am expanding my knowledge. Studying as much as I can. I'm only so capable right now, it's kinda difficult to be a true enthusiast. However, I'll rip a new a$$hole to any person who thinks it's okay to argue with me how their honda, mitsubishi, mustang, etc. is a better car. Not in my lifetime, jack. I don't care how many timing belts I snap, or how many bushes the a$$-end of a 911 will meet if you lift in a corner, or how little aftermarket performance parts are available( N/A 944 world), or how your fwd is better in winter, or even how my insurance is going to cost me soo much more. You have the inferior design. Nuff said.

I'm on my way though.

Not just any kind of leather for my seats. Porsche-grain leather.

It costs $$$$$$ believe me.

In the 1970's I drove 1400 miles (round trip) so that I could get a 45DCOE tuned to the engine I had built. I'm not sure if this qualifies as being an enthusiast but I remember wife thinking I had severe mental problems.

in the immortal words of dane cook- "OIL IS MY BLOOD! GAS MAKES ME GO!"

i'm getting a Porsche Crest on the upper right arm once i find a REALLY good shop, either that, or i'll just heat up the crest on my hood and brand myself. hahahahaha.

other plans- Giant cross on my back (i'm a mexican, i have to have one somewhere) or maybe on the other arm.

Girlfriend's name in old english on my back (also because i'm a mexican). and she's doing mine at the same time somewhere (not sure where yet), so we're stuck with each other..

Tatoo=true enthusiast? No! After many years in the Navy, lots of guys have tat's of places visited, illusion's of mythical selves, and now sit on their rented couches in an empty apartment.

Look at the bottom line, what is the % of income spent on P-cars? If he's really good, he has increased his tax bracket while holding his P-car spending %age.

Also, how far back has his family continously owned a P-cars, any inherited?

There was a big wannabe gangsta showing off his 993TT at the San Jose Grand Prix this summer with a huge Porsche logo tattooed on his chest and lower neck. It was probably a foot tall... The guy was a total poser, however... Was spouting off about how gangsta he was and all that... He was obviously a white kid from the suburbs.

Default Does this count?

My wife points out all the Porsche relevant times between 9:11 and 9:51 PM (especially 9:44) and has gotten darn good at spotting and naming Porsches of all types when on the road.

All this and she's never even ridden in a P-car - I sold mine before we met. There will be an S2 or 968 cab in our future though.

Rick
