Question fuel injector re-seal kit

Ok, I've done a search on fuel injector re-seal kits and from what I've heard the ones out there generally don't fit without modifications. Is that true?

Where can I get a kit that will fit properly? If I have to go to a dealer did VW or Audi use any of the same injectors? There is not a p-car dealer near here but I will be going by the VW/Audi dealer tomorrow.

We've ordered them from Travis at Rennbay and never had a problem. We also have the spiffy injector clearer rig that Dave built for us, so it would be no big deal to get them taken care of. Having said that, Witchhunter will service them for approx $50 and gives a flow report with them and is very fast to return your injectors, so we've pretty much started using him instead. I also have a set of stock injectors sitting around that I have redone and are ready to go, if you need them in a hurry.

Regards,

I pick up the injector reseal kits from Oriell'ys auto parts that are the proper kits...i think about 2.25 an injector. It is just a standard bosch injector, so getting the kits isn't too hard at a parts store.

I can't priase the great service that Gordon at Witchhunter does. I send all injectors to him now and the turn around time and price is phenomenal.

Yea, not only does gordon do a phenomenal job, he also puts on new seals and such, so you dont have to worry about doing it yourself. If you are going to do it yourself, put the injectors in the freezer and heat the pintle caps with a heat gun, add alittle atf, then put them together quick (2 clicks)....otherwise the caps like to crack.

I used seals from Orielly's and had no problems. the hardest part was getting the old seals and hats off. I did not freeze or heat anything and they snapped right on. No problems, no leaks.

I really can't emphasise the improvements gained from a proper cleaning and balance testing. It's one thing to toss on new seals and caps, it's another if the valve bodies are still dirty and not within spec. If just one injector is leaking and the car is running good otherwise I can see replacing just seals. To go through the whole removal/installation process and not have them cleaned is poor use of my time IMHO. I have rebuilt spares now for both cars which eliminates any down time.

My car is running very well at the moment. My #3 injector is leaking and I have a strong gas smell under the hood! Witchhunter's service seems like a good deal and I'm now thinking that a 17 year old car where the PO put in whatever gas was cheapest should probably have this service perfromed on all the injectors. One of those "while I'm in there" type of things I suppose. Winter is approaching and this is as good of time as any to have some down time.

I've also reached my 1 year of Porsche ownership this month! I've spent most of the year getting little maintaince issues up to date and have started down the slippery slope of performance mods (something I said I wouldn't do when I bought it).

The 951 should come with an FDA warning and be classified as a DEA Schedule 2 narcotic as they have high addiction potential!

You got that right. I guess something can be said about buying a well modded car from the start...they usually scare buyers away only to find the buyer taking the same route as a car they might have turned down. I think most people buy their first 951 with the intention of keeping it stock because they run so well that way...then they go on a run or GTG and see what others have done to their cars...it most certainly is an addiction, thank God it's a legal one.

Another vote for sending them to Witchunter. For $60 they will clean, flow test, and clean up all 4 injectors and send them back. Can't be beat.

Default Got the little buggers out!

I think the middle two injectors were the culprits. I'll ship them off to Witchhunter on Monday.

How should I clean the injector holes in the head? They are nasty dirty!
