Exclamation Bad Experience Buying From Jake 944cs

I Have had a horibble experience buying from him. Seeing as I cannot take any legal action, have tried to work through John D and am too far away to deal with him personally, this is my last course of action. I am in college.

History:
June 13, 2005:
Jake recieved $410 through paypal for a used 944 manual steering rack with intermediate shaft and boots. I did not specify to have it insured. My fault. He gave me a tracking number.

End of June: Package was finally shipped two weeks after I paid in full.

Middle of July: UPS loses the package. Because it is not insured we had to decide what to do. We decided to split the loss. Personally I don't beleive It was my responsiblity.

Midlle of August: Package was returned to Jake missing the intermediate shaft. Somehow DHL got a hold of it and returned it.

Sept. 13, 2005: I sent Jake another $25 to cover shipping again. Now I am paying more for less than the deal was oringally for(minus the intermediate shaft).

Sept. 17, 2005: I was told by Jake he was shipping the package again and this time it would be insured.

HE NEVER SHIPPED IT

I kept sending him emails and PM's trying to get a status report, turns out he was ignoring me.

So I contacted John D who sent him an email on October 13 basically saying Jake should have sent me the package. In return Jake sent me a message telling me to" F-off, that I am horrible to deal with, that I will get my rack and that he hopes it arrives smashed". He said his reason for not shipping as he promised is because he was moving and had finals.

Yet, he did not contact me telling me about any delay. Too make matters worse he seemed to have the time to sell other parts here on rennlist while mine package is sitting somewhere. Please notice the date Sept 19. https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/227383-awesome-parts-for-sale-951-rear-valence-added.html

I have yet to recieve my package or hear any word from Jake. He now has $435 and I have nothing to show.

I don't like posting things like this, hence why I waited so long, but I am irate.

I wonder if the other "sold" items have reached they're destinations?

You are well within your rights and should be pissed. You've gone through the right channels and still are out a large hunk of money. I've sold you parts before and you weren't difficult to deal with at all. I hope Jake steps up here and gives an explanation, he's still posting here so I'm sure he'll see this.

Jake was selling a completely NEW rack in that September for sale thread. Not a used one that was being sold to Amishman. Jake has always been a stand-up guy in dealings I have had with him. Please, let's not jump to conclusions.

Remember, you can always get your money back through paypal. I've had to use it once before on eBay when a guy hadn't sent me a set of wheels after a month and a half. It works quite well and the process only takes a couple weeks.

Yeah, but I want to say that the limit is like 60 or 90 days. Its a significant period of time.

Sounds like it's time to follow up your previous tracking numbers, there's no way I taking a loss on they're botched deliveries.

You're not taking a loss, Kevin. I am. I've already tried to deal with UPS and I received the runaround. Frankly I don't have time to argue with them anymore.

funny.

I talked to jake ALOT last year and even spoke with him over the phone numerous times. he never struck me like the kind of guy who would do that.

though lately he has been acting like a know-it-all :X

Yep, here's another testament to Jake, never had any problems with him - talk to him on a daily basis!

I sent Jake a check for rockers and you know what he did? He cashed it and held my rockers in his attic. Had to go to his house and get them myself... True story - I swear! Of course I asked him to hold them for me until I could get up to the DFW area and pick them up. But hey, why let a couple of trival facts get in the way of a good roast!

Don't know the details that lead to this post, but I'd have to say Jake is a stand up guy.
