Default Rennline pedals cause failed inspection?!

Boy does that suck. My Rennline pedals caused me to fail my inspection. The guy said they need to have rubber on them for "traction". What BS. Those pedals provide a hundred times more traction then the rubber pedals. Now I have to take them off, go back in for inspection, then put them back on. Not really too too big of a deal.. but really never saw that coming. Thoughts?

I'm with you BS!

Find the code that states that!
Get the rennlines wet and see if you have traction(yes), now do the same to the rubber ones(no)...and by the way the accelerator pedal is plastic....

Hmm, interesting theory that rubber is better than metal for pedals. I'd take it to a different inspection place.

Put a condom over the accelerator pedal and latex gloves on the brake and clutch pedals. That aught to do the trick for inspection, plus it will keep your car safe if you let someone else take it for a spin.

just get some rubber inserts for the holes. I'm sure the sparco ones would fit. You can just pop em out after. or just bolt an eraser to it through existing holes with a nut on the back.

Im pretty sure it will be alot quicker to unscrew the pedals and put them back in then make some crazy earser/bolt rubber attatchment for the pedals

I really dont even care about having to take em out then put them back in.. i mean its better then there being somehting wrong with the emissions. But common, does the guy have to bust my ***** about pedals?

Yup, that's pretty much what he's doing.

I can't imagine that glazed over rubber pedal pads are safer.

So I guess we don't see too many of these in NJ either:

Ah yes, the barefoot gas pedal. The must-have addition to a beach cruiser, haha.

I am sooooo glad we don't have inspections here in Mi. It's really not wirth all the BS like this you have to go through. Too much of it is left to the opinion of the guy doing the inspection.

Or, in the case of NY where the repair shop that does the inspection can "offer" to do the repair (and pass the car without paying for a new inspection fee), if he's made enough money on his repair business that month.
