Picture request - Porsche race car graphics - especially gold cars...
Ok, so I bought this '83 944 - it is extra, I don't NEED it to go to work in, I have an 87 944 and a Ford truck for that. So I want to make a mild weekend racer/toying around the backroads car. I already have some 2-piece, polished aluminum/gold BBS knock-offs that my friend had on his 83 911SC (actually the very car used in the movie "Office Space") that look freaking great on it! I am going to delete the back seat and do a simple minimalistic interior. I already have some suspension mods in the works and the car has manual steering -yay!
So here's where I need your help, my friend bought a CNC vinyl cutter. I want to put some neat but not gawdy graphics on it. I normally hate gold cars, but when they have sponser graphics they look great. I would like to see some examples of Porsche race car, preferably gold and preferably 944, but not necessary. I will have a Mobile 1 and Warstiener sticker (my favorite beer), but what else would look sharp?

I have driven it.......
He got married a couple years ago and sold it to the then president of the Hill Country PCA chapter. I have no idea where it is now though.

That car looked great in Office Space, i liked the blue color alot. Lumberg wasnt such a bad guy, he was driving a very cool car. Do you know any info behind them pulling off the rear bumper with the tow truck? If i remember right, they did actually pull a bumper off...did they have a 'stunt' dummy bumper or something?

Yeah, it was some kind of junkyard bumper they repair and painted to look just good enough for that scene - no Porsches were harmed in the making of this movie......
But yeah, that was filmed in Dallas and there were only two cars of that type and color in Texas. The other car had a rich ******* for an owner and didn't want anything to do with the movie. My buddy had just had it repainted and a top-end overhaul, so when they asked him if they could pay him to use his car he jumped all over it! They had all kinds of insurance on it and even had it professionally detailed before they gave it back.

Someone (edit: removed name) in San Antonio has a '76 Gold 911 original 3.0. He used to run red and black graphics on it and it was awesome looking. I'll try to find some pictures on the LRPCA website.

Hmm, he used to be the editor of the newsletter for that region but I cannot find him on the website any longer. I wonder if he has moved on :\. His car sure was rare and cool looking.

I always liked this picture of the Racer's Edge cars.

I think it brings out a cool line on the body of the 944 with the two-tone paint scheme. Black and gold would be pretty cool.
