Default 968 Small Technical Help

My 968 is retaining water in the gas cap holding area during rain or washing, I have tried clearing the drain hole from the top with a wire but I can't seem to get it cleared.

Any ideas....?

Thanks for the help

If it's the same as on a 944, which I assume it is, the drain hose for the gas filler area taps into the drain hose for the sunroof with a T connector. It might be clogged there? Pull the carpet aside and check the hose connection.
Woops, just noticed you have a cab, which means no sunroof. Well, check the hose anyway however it might be routed, it might be clogged somewhere farther down.
4 Porsches and no hardtops? Is sunscreen a line item on your yearly Porsche parts budget?

Cabs, just kinda happened that way, I am constantly looking for coupes , my first Porsche was a 88 944 turbo, kalahari beige, oh still wish I had that, but shop for low miles and color now, and cabs have just been the things that qualify... Thanks for the help

Ok, sports fans, by removing the trunk carpet, then pull up the carpeting on the right side, I must warn that if you have large monkey hands like me, you are in trouble. You can reach up into the side well and there is a white plastic drain tube, the has a branch with black rubber tubing to each the gas resevoir and the drain to the right side drain around the decklid... My right hand is in shreds but, I got the tubes out, cleaned out all the sediment, then managed to shred my hand up again, and get them back in, all is well and draining like a champ. Then simply put the carpet back in.. So when the scaps form on my hand I will feel like I accomplished something today..
