Question Gasket matching a port & polish job

I'm sending my head to get ported and polished and I wanted to know if I should have them gasket match the head.

I'm also looking at getting the intake mani done as well.

And before the flames begin I have "credit" at the shop so i'm not paying for this job.

you need to match the gasket, or else all the work was pointless since the gasket would still be stock size. I just cut one gasket exactly right to my port matched intake manifold. then I bolted all four gaskets together, and dremeled the material out, using the first as a guide. They all came out very very good.

royal, how's it going...have u heard about the supercharger bolt on that activates only at wot. I don't think its too pricey...call Darel at eurosport he was putting one on his DE car several months ago. Its just a high power blower that rams air into the intake.
see ya

You don't always want to gasket match the intake gasket to the intake port, as some gaskets are ALOT bigger then the port is. By taking the port out to the gasket you could actually hurt performance. It will be especially criticle on a NA application.

thats what i was thinking. Due to the fact i dont have forced induction the wider por would actually hurt more than help. I guess i'm looking at a mild to medium port job then.
