Default shift linkage side on a 924s

my shifter is rediculously dificult to shift,
the shop said it might be something blocking the linkage
(not mechanical)

now my 951 had the linkage on the right (sitting in the driver's seat)
but this car has the the linkage to the left

I'm hoping it's backwards and this fixes it

thanks!

Does the shifter spring back from the center between 1-2 to the center between 3-4 easily (does it move from left to right easily)? Or are you only having problems going from front to back?

it's somewhat easy left to right but it's hard front to back.

does the linkage go on the right side of the shifter or not?

I don't know. But anyone reading your first post will have a hard time understanding what the problem is.

On my 924s, all of the problems were due to corrosion in the shift linkage at the transmission. Replacing the assembly at the transmission fixed the problem.

Looks like it should be on the right side, as you sit in the driver's seat.

it didn't fix it.

you can feel it hit something (hear/feel it vibrate)
when you push the shifter all the way left

the shifter doesn't come back to center either.

its signifacantly harder to throw it forward and backward but left to right is still cumbersome
