Default Need help with Greddy Profec-b Spec 2

Ok,

Got this in the car tonite and went out to set it up. I'm having a major issue with boost control. I have a stock single port wastegate that's been shimmed. I have the line off the top of the wastegate hooked up to the COM port on the solenoid, and the line off the banjo bolt is hooked up to the NO port on the solenoid. The NC port is open to ATM.

With the boost set at 0, gain set at 10% and start set at 0, the turbo basically will boost up to a billion. Well, I let off when I see it go to 16 and still running up. No matter what I set the boost at (I set it to 100), it still acts the same. In other words, the controller doesn't seem to be controlling the solenoid. Or the solenoid isn't sending a signal to the wastegate. All connections are good.

When I set the boost to 100, I did hear the solenoid purging air out. When I hook the banjo bolt line up to the NC port, it does the same thing, basically overboosting and setting the boost on the controller doesn't do anything.

What am I missing here? Is it because both the boost and start are at zero? If I turn the boost up to 30% will the boost actually go down? It doesn't look like any of the lines are kinked...Unit is brand new.

Suggestions? I'm pretty frustrated right now...

This is what I went with, and it's just a baseline. Keep in mind mine is dual port. Set 39%, gain 22%, set gain 12.5, warn 16.0, and limit 5%.

Now go get yourself some sleep and I'll provide more info in the morning, because I'm going to sleep.

I'm wondering if I somehow hooked the lines up backwards...

I have to profecB spec 2. I installed it last year and I am just realizing I had the settings all messed up. I have a shimmed stock WG which is single port so my setup should be the same. I just checked my car. banjo to no, com to WG , and nc to atm. Leave the Gain and Start at zero. Start out with the SET at 15 and raise or lower the SET to get to the boost you want. Then use the gain to adjust for spikes and dropping boost. All set ups are different because of different wastegates and turbos. Leave the START at zero. The less parameters the better at first. Check the lines to make sure they are connected properly. check the electrical connections to the valve and the main unit. Besides the bankjo bolt and WG lines there is a separate lines that runs from the maion unit to a separate pressure source like off of the fuel pressure regulator. Thats what that plastic T that comes with the kit is for. Did you run that line also?

Yep, ran that line off the fpr and into the unit. I've also spliced the fpr line for my boost gauge.

Even with the SET at zero tho, I'm overboosting. With SET at zero, shouldn't I only be seeing 5 psi or so?

I would think you would get seome boost like 11 psi at zero SET. Does the unit turn on? Is the electrical harness plugged into the valve harness and plugged into the back of the main unit? Maybe stupid questions but I hooked mine up wrong the first time.

Oh, I get boost alright, too much of it! It'll boost up to super max if I let it. (I've been lifting off at 16psi when I see it still going up) Unit turns on and read boost/vacuum just fine, so that's not the problem.

Filter is one way, but there isn't an arrow on it and the maual doesn't say which way it's supposed to go. I followed the (very) small picture in the manual on installing it. Which way is it supposed to go? Right now I have the wide end base of it on the far side of the boost controller...

Think I figured it out. In changing around the boost hoses last night I totally hooked em up wrong. I haven't had a chance to drive the car yet, but at least it's hooked up right now...
