I've got to do the front brake lines, retension the belts and do some exhaust work. Should keep me busy for the winter. Maybe I'll een tackle a respay on my nose panel. It could really use a refresh.
I was hitting the last staggered slolom cones before entering the finish. They were tight together (12 paces between them) and I was giong in too hot. Think I was getting overconfident with my race tires. I managed to get through them all morning without a problem. Think I was trying to hard to break 50 seconds.

The final slalom was very tight, and easy to overspeed. It took a very quick toss to wag the tail of the car through it. I took it slow at first and built to a fairly aburpt manevoir on the last two runs. I had the most trouble with the 180, and getting it to throttle steer enough to set me up for the return, without overcooking it. I spun on Saturday in the same spot, in the wet sand. I also lost speed in the second slalom go up the course toward the first coned corner. Tricky details in the course.

I'm sorry that I couldn't join you guys. I was going to stop by on Sunday, but the car is still dangling on the lift waiting for its wheels to come back from the refinisher.

Painful. Car is at SM Motorsports waiting for rear wheels to come back from a third go-round with the refinisher. When they came back after the second try, they were no better. You really have to wonder...

That really sucks. Doesn't say much for the refinisher! I had a local body shop paint my phone dials back in '02. Came out great. I had another NJ guy do one of my 968 rims...$130 per rim, but came out like new. How much are you paying your place?

I am looking into powdercoating my phone dials for my race tires. Getting prices between $60 and $75.

If you go with powder, make sure they DON'T powder coat the inside middle hole in the rim! My D90's had such a thick coating, the wheels didn't go onto the hub without the tire place dremeling off some of the powder around the holes!

Jon, that is per wheel and using basic colors. Some colors (like gun metal) are more money because there are 2 coats.

The the autocross standings are up. ARe you going on the 6th?

Andy, Thanks for the advice. I am sure that is the exact thing that would happen to me. Was probably really annoying.

Dan, i should defenetley be there on the 6th. I have just $50 left in my bank account, just enough for $20 in gas and the $30 entry fee. Ive been taking off of work the last 3 weeks for the Zone1 and obligations at school this week. Its as if it was meant to be!

Was $115 per wheel, including straightening or welding if required. All four were straightened. I'm picking up the car today, so we'll have to hope for the best. How're your front end noises/vibration?
