Paint needs...
I have some spots on the car where I need to touch up the paint. Winter project list is starting. One location is behind the wheel on the edge of the fender. And the usual stone chips...
I was going to order the paint from e-touch.com(same place I ordered the paint for my wheels) because they sell it in Aerosol form. {Wish I had the paint supplies but my wife would kill me if I started down that road.}
Anyway, I need L M3A(Guards Red/India Red) in either Aerosol or bottle where I can apply to the problem areas.
Do any of the Cincinnati guys know if there is a shop where paint can be purchased in our area?
Thanks
Z

David - Another option is to have it done. When I got my '88 NA, it had numerous stone chips on the nose, hood, a couple of scratches, AND a whole punch of chips along the rippled area down at the bottom between the doors.
I found one of the local touch-up/dentless paint folks in the area that was doing the work for many local Porsche/Mercedes dealers. These guys were pretty expert in making the chipped cars look like new so they would sell.
I made an appointment and watched as:
- they mixed the paint by hand to match the current color (fade and all)
- two young guys went over the nose (spray), lower rippled space (taped/sprayed), and used the tiniest paint brushes I'd ever seen to fill in any additional scratches.
They must have spent two hour on the car. Told me not to wax it for 3 weeks or so and sent me on my way.
Total cost... $100.
Best bargain I ever had.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the information, I am going to look into both Finishmaster and other to see what I can do. Just looking to protect the area that needed....
Porsche sells the touch-up paint for 18-20.00 which might be an option...

Just go to the dealer - that's what I did. Actually you can get the SAME EXACT paint for a VW (same colors) for about 1/4 the cost per touch-up tube. The "Porsche" alpine white was $60 for a tube, the VW equivalent was $15. Same exact paint.

Gotta love the inbreeding amongst these companies. I have the P-car and a VW. I see more Porsche/VW/Audi symbols on these cars than you can shake a stick at!

Thanks, I picked up the bottle from Porsche... Just a reason to go over and look and sit in a few cars and talk to Bruce. Took Lori, so maybe, just maybe, Santa Claus will be nice this year.. Wake Up....
Anyway, I probably shouldn't started too look at the paint chips too hard. Becuase you know where that led... Straight to, hum I could have the entire car resprayed..
Anyway, thanks fo da info...

What timing....I just walked in the door with a pint of PPG Delstar K (color matched Guards Red) packed in four rattle cans, a Mothers California Gold Clay Bar Paint Saving System, and a six of Blue Moon Belgian Pale Ale. Great stuff, try it with an orange slice.
Half price on the rattle cans and color matching, a complementary 8oz Ultra Cutting Creme, and I was out the door for a Benjamin and some change. The paint came from Tri-City Paint, aparently the largest local joint to do rattle cans.
PO used some candy apple lookn stuff on the rocker panels, rear stone guards, and misc areas for touch up
Let the weekend begin!

Hey Kevin let me know how it turns out. Are you going to run over your painted areas with some 1500-2000 grit and some rubbing compound for that colorsanded look?
