Stop and fathom what you're actually doing. No one wants a half-asses track car - a proper one is incredibly expensive to build - are you sure you want to bastardize a nice 951?
Btw, the Broadfoot piece could be much lighter. There is still a LOT of 6061 billet there.
Lemming, I was thinking that gutting some stuff under and below the dash may be possible, but to be honest, I don't know whats under there. Also, there really is no point in going overboard, I still have no skill in THIS car. I run HPDE's, and I run quick with red group in a FWD car, but i still have many events and learning to do in 300 hp, RWD, turbo car. Whats under the dash, anything I do not need? I'll remove the evaporator then.

Well, if you're getting rid of the ac, why not delete the heater and all blowers. If that's the case, remove dash and rip everything out except the essential wires. Cut all wires that were going to the AC/heater works.
You should absolutely get rid of the sound deadening material, it's really heavy stuff. Just pull the carpet up and look below it, that's the stuff that you need to remove.
As for Broadfoot, I've never been able to get ahold of them, either through email or phone. I personally just stuck with the factory AC delete bracket. Customer service is a BIG deal in my book, and if you're to busy to respond to your customers, well then I dont want to do business with you anyway.
-sound mats under carpets (2 front, 2 rear) -saves about 25 pounds
25 pounds? where are they and how hard!
25 pounds sounds about right. I just finished removing mine yesterday as part of my interior delete. It has the consistency of asphalt roofing shingles. Heat with a heat gun and use a putty knife to loosen, then clean the remaining adhesive residue with mineral spirits.
This material is also found on both sides of the transmission tunnel, on the center of the rear cargo area, and along the insides of the rear quarter panels.
My interior is almost stripped, I keep getting sidetracked by getting involved in rewiring tasks.
About 2 more hrs. of cleaning, then scuffing, then the paint goes on.
Well,
I am taking my AC out. Not entirely though. I have taken out the compressor and the condensor. I am leaving the lines in incase I sell the car and the new owner wants AC, it wouldn't be difficult to re-install. However, I have had much trouble finding an AC delete bracket (car is off the road now). DO NOT order one from BROADFOOT. The worst customer service ever. I have been wait since July to get my bracket in from them. I would buy one from the 944Cup guys if I could at least get my money refunded. Broadfoot hasn't even refunded me my money yet ($155). So, pass it on that Broadfoot sucks as far as web orders go.
There may be another AC delete option rearing its ugly head pretty soon. Tim heard a little about it last week but I am going to keep it under wraps until I get it complete. And no... its not just another "ac delete bracket." Something that will shed a lot more weight than just that....

i agree. i ordered 2 separate items, the first of which i cancelled because the length of time, and the 2nd came 2 months later. horrible service.

travis, will you give me a hint or time frame. I mean, should I wait for you? let me know what your talking about before i end up regretting not waiting.
as for the broadfoot unit, I wouldn't order from broadfoot (I'm smarter then that) Lindsey sells the broadfoot peice, and its 10 bucks cheaper there too.
