Default Feeler Thread -Sacto Nor Cal Fall Mountain Run

It's nearing the the end of the higher elevation driving season. I'm setting up a run out of Sacramento to Markleeville for Saturday, October 29th. Depending on attendance the route will be Sac to Pollock Pines, Mormon Emigrant Trail to Hwy 88, 88 to 89 to Markleville, to Monitor Pass Summit. It will be set up so that people from the Bay Area and Modesto can end the drive with more direct routes home from the 89/4 junction(DanD). Us local folks will get an excellent run down Fiddletown Road from 88 and back to Sac. I won't say anything more about Mormon Emigrant Trail other than it is a 'very fast' section of perfect road with very little traffic. For all you Bay Area people that always say you will make it next time'; this is 'next time' until your Pizza Run. I'll be getting routes and meeting place(s) together over the next week based upon prospective turnout and points of origin. This is an open run and all Porsches and their friends are welcome. The Fall colors should be outstanding, countless photo ops, and some of my favorite roads await you. Let me know if you are interested and where you are coming from. Here's 3 of the roads on the route described by our 2-wheeled brethren:

Last time I was out there, I spun a rod bearing and it was no fun at all - this time the engine is fresh and I can't wait - count me in. I think I even have my wife interested !

well first I need to find someone willing to let me use their P9201 tension tool. My Balance belt is really freakin loose and Monday morning the thing was squealing like a pig... I'm scared. I may be a passenger for the next run. No problems driving Saturday but I'll pay for the fun now.

Balance shaft belts dont squeal. It's most likely your PS or alternator belt. If you do need to retension the balance shaft belt, it can be safely done without the tool.

Boy, you're going to guilt me into going.

I would love to. I'm penciling this into the calendar. Maybe I'll borrow the Kid's 914/8 and have some fun....

I don't think I can make this one, but I'll keep an eye on this thread just in case my schedule opens up.

Yeah, I bought a money tree this summer, and you know how they blossom in the fall!

It belongs to a friend of mine.
