If you are getting spark and injectors the sensors are working.

This is not good;

plugs dont get wet after crankin awhile
If so you have fuel delivery problems. This can be unrelated to the fuel pump working. Thinking AFS.

Well I had someone come over with an early 944 and help me out no such luck. tested/tried/swapped out everything it could possibly be. Next thing to try is all electrical. My car is a electrical mess my mistake for buying a car with no records and stuff but couldnt help it when a porsche was thrown in front of me. What do you guys think should i take the time and work on the electrical to find out what it could be or sell/part it out? i would really love a t951(with records this time) because thats my dream car. Let me know what ya think. If anybody has had a electrical problem causing to not start please let me know!!!!!!! THANKS

If the start cranks, and no start, check your ignition/key switch next to the steering wheel. These go bad, and the car, basically won't run. Starter turns over, gas squirts, yadda yadda .... but the DME/Ignition link in the switch is dead. No DME/Ignition connection, no spark!

Sometimes, wiggling the key and moving the steering wheel back-and-forth while cranking the starter will "catch" the connection in the bad switch ..... vroooom! You're off to the parts store for a new switch and key assembly!

Good luck!

IIRC with my 83, i had the same problem and it ended up being the ref sensors, but i did spend alot of time fumbling with the factory alarm. Im sure if you do a search on factory alarm there is a way to disable it without having the key, because i had the exact same problem. Speaking of which, does anyone actually have the key to their factory alarm and use it? Seems like it was a well thought out idea yet no one actually retained the key for it.

Hmm yeah i got a new ignition swtich already but no such luck. I will defiently look into the alarm system. And i am trying to find some good but used sensors to try becouse they seem to be very expensive and im tired of just throwin $$ at it and not knowing what the problem is. thanks everyone

Go here:
http://www.eurowebparts.com/default....t.epc?make=BMW
Choose: 1986 535i / engine electrical / reference sensor
Brand new price $55.26. Fits right in. The only difference is that the wire is longer. You can basically get (2) new sensors for the price of one for a 'Porsche'.

Any news? I was pulling my hair out a while back with a no start problem. It turned out I had the speed and reference sensors plugged in vice versa. Once I switched them everything was ok. And aribop's right about the bmw sensors; same exact part, cheaper.
