Three Letters, BMW.

Excellent DD's comfortable, quiet, reasonable power, reasonable handeling (vs porsche that is). I have an E36 and like it alot. Budget concious folks might choose the e30, however when I sell my e36 if ever, I'll get an E46 m3 for sure... unless of course I don't swap in a S50B30 Motor into mine...

check out http://www.roadfly.com/bmw/forums/ for bimmer info.

Ill take a Nissan just as much as a Toyota!!

Id list the stupid problems with the family Dodge... But those are more or less a given It does keep on going though... Amazingly.
Funny I forgot to type "Hey if you don't" Wow who knew English was so hard My dad drove a 76 Chevy LUV with a Mitsubishi engine in it...who am I kidding -drove still drives! We also had a 89 Plymouth colt Vista with a mitsubishi engine in it....still runs! You cannot beat the Japanese for reliability affordable parts, availability(and the Koreans are catching up!). Not to mention that most Toyotas are made here in the states now days anyway! Japanese is the smart logical choice....so why are we not all driving supras and nsx's

Ah, suuuuuuuuuuure "if"

Yeah that Mitsu is a fairly decent engine. Sees near redline often with me at the wheel. Always good for a laugh, it sounds like its going to blow up and feels like it too :rofmao: Only has once though. The headgaskets let go quite... Spectactularly. A smoke screen that would have impressed any military general.

I spent $2,000 a year on my '84 944. How can such a figure arbitrarily be set on a 928's maintenance without ownership of your own?

Sorry it's just a thought, I'm not aiming to **** you off pcarfan944. I see a 308 in your picture. I've heard maintenance is at least $5,000 a year. Guess what? My uncle had a 1979 308 GTS and he spent $5,000 one year only on that car. The rest of the years were under $3,000 because he got the major suspension overhaul done along with the valve adjustment and timing belt replacement.

Let me put this in bold so you all can understand this:

THERE IS NO SET PRICE ON MAINTENANCE ON ANY CAR PER YEAR. IT'S THE FACT OF HOW IT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF.

I rest my case.

The 928 is a magnificent car. It has its ups and downs yes. However, your patience with cars reflects how your ownership will be with the 928. Bloodraven you have Porsches. I trust you have lots of patience, like me.

It all depends on the car, and you should know this. One year you might pay $500, the next you might pay $3000, all i'm saying is that a lot of 928 owners would agree that 2k/year seems to be a happy medium. This is not subjective as i've read it many times over many forums when people ask, so if you have any questions or doubts ask them, not me.

I see what your friends on Ferrarichat.com have to say also about their 308s. Nevertheless...I'd still buy one! Maintenance should not get in the way of passion, just the pocket book
