Default Rear Cam Cover

There are three holes for the bolts, what is the fourth hole for(does anything go in here, mine is empty)?

it was made that way, it's actually a 928 part and the 4th hole is so it can be mounted on either head of the 928 motor. Normal and nothing goes there. HTH

So it is just the gasket covering the hole? There is a hole on the cover itself, and then the engine bracket.

right, the gasket is to be flipped according to the side it will be used on, the part is universal per side (just use the proper hole)and the bracket I beleive is a 944 part. The gasket will cover the hole in the cover and there is no 4th hole in the cam box.

thanks nine-44, have you or anyone use lock washers or rtv on this cover?, when i removed the cam tower i was missing a bolt. thanks again.

These 3 little bolts like to back out over time for some bloody reason. I just got into the habit of giving them a little twist of the wrench about 3 times a year on a daily driven and heavily tracked NA.
