Some dumb people, I tells ya. I have heard some discouraging things about the 924, but I still think it's an alright car. Props to the 924S though, and people should realize the 924S is completely different (a skinny 944). Of course when spiffied up, any Porsche can be stellar - was the stock 924 (first generation) really such a lame car? I mean I know the engine was weak, but surely it inspired SOMETHING in the driver...

Very few people have actually driven a well maintained 1976-1982 924, never mind one with mild upgrades (think head work, euro compression pistons, hotter cam, bigger throttle body, cat delete, bilsteins all round, fresh suspension bushings, etc. etc. etc.). The most frequently seen 924 is one sitting unloved in a field. Anyone who wants to come to Edmonton and go for a ride in mine is welcome. Next summer should be even more fun with my rebuilt engine going in.
