Be carefull Andrew or Ted might ban you, he is very close friend of mr Doug or tifo may report this to a moderator. Anyway the hybrid crowd only comes to this forum to brag about power. But have you ever wonder why they don't talk S_it over the 944 turbo & S forum? lol.

Do you know that according mr.abused child you and I are 2 of the top a-holes from booblist they even have your picture. Oh yes and mr. abused child is glad that my car was totaled, indeed he is very mature for a 51 years old gentleman.

They/we don't put everyone down here... actually, I've never put anyone down here and never will. Some people had some arguments with some other people because many illogical points were thrown at our conversions that we spend many hours, blood, sweat, and tears doing, all for the sake of having the power and reliability we've always wanted for our beloved 944. I think the 944 is one excellent car in every way shape and form. I thoroughly enjoyed my '83 944 N/A when I drove it for 10 years stock.... and now I like it even better that I spent one year of some spare time turning into a super car that I can drive everyday. That's all, love the work you've done, enjoy the ride, don't put anyone else down.
We all enjoy the same thing, the ride, and it's still from the same car. A fine machine.

I admit, I come here every few months to see what's going on, help out if I can... I do know a lot more now about the 944 than I did before I converted it. I've had to rebuild quite a bit to handle the extra power and wire it up.

I'm actually doing some major upgrades of the suspension over the last month(s), torsion bars and transaxle (I can tell you how to get a later year oil cooled transaxle in an early 944) and can't wait to get it back on the road!! woo hoo

I noticed that they posted my picture on their site and follow Rennlist for bashing material, I guess that spins their wheels... very mature for a 51 year old eh?

If that other red car was readily available for less than $5,000 then I'm sure there'd be a bunch of people who'd be willing to drop a SBC in it. I'm not one of them but I'm sure there'd be a lot of people who would.

I will be so glad to copy their comments over their forum and post them here. all they do is brag and brag about how fast and powerfull they are. Also they devote a lot of time to make fun, make derrogatory statements about the people from rennlist. Is that what a v8 does to you?

Oh, and yes we like to tell people about the power... because it's amazing! Just like to let people know there's an option to power for the 944. I didn't know about the V8 upgrade, my car was down after 10 years of driving it and didn't want to rebuild my '83 N/A engine, was looking into a new car but nothing for the price seemed as good. I didn't want to buy a rebuilt Turbo because I didn't want the old costs with the 2.5L... belt replacement... little things that add up. The LT1 V8 with aluminum heads is very close in weight to the stock 2.5L and the LS1 (all aluminum) is the same weight if not less... parts are inexpensive and the engine will last a llloonnggg time... and the power is just crazy. Anyway, I was browsing the web and found out about it and got so excited. Project of a life time.

Please don't get me wrong. I love v8's, I have my eyes on a beatiful 04" C5. I really don't care if they swap a v8 on their cars. It's their attitude that sucks. On their minds their cars are faster and more reliable than any 951. That is not true, it might cost less to maintain a hybrid true, but they are not necessarily more reliable or more powerful than a well tuned & modded 951.

Right, I've never gone up against a well tuned modded 951. According to the stats I've seen, they put out some sweat HP. BUT, I do know my LT1 kicks the life out of my old N/A. Double the HP, Double or more the torque... I have to dyno it soon.
Don't get me wrong, I liked that Old N/A, took me around the country for work and loved every minute but its time had come.
Are you going to buy your car back from the insurance company and swap the parts into another 944? Be a shame to let the knowledge and parts go... but it'll be a hell of a lot of work.

Actually, is your frame ok? What hit you, an SUV? Looks high up, salvagable with some new panels?

I don't know yet, I am still waiting for the DAMN farmer's insurance adjuster. But I do miss my car badly. I am selling one of my 944's to make space for the C5, it's for my wife and she don't like my 951 because it's manual.

Here is the guilty party, according to CHP he was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

omg! nice bumper on that thing... more like some plastic covering two "kill the car in front of you" prongs. They should be written up in a car mag on, "How to build a car to inflict the least amount of damage to itself and pass all of the destruction onto someone else's", just build a bumper like that one. unreal
