Default Paint code question

Hello everyone,

I had a very bad yesterday with the body shop. Apparently, they received the wrong paint from the "paint dealer" and realized it after they shot damn near the whole car! It was supposed to be Crystal Metallic (LY7T) and instead they got Glacier Metallic (LY5U). Anyway, they apologized bigtime and they are going to sand it down and re-spray again with the right paint so I'm not too worried about it. I have known the guy for a long time and this is unusual for him, everyone makes a mistake, right. Only thing that sucks is that I had to have the car this week so my car was Silver 2 weeks ago, Glacier this week...and will be silver again next week!

QUESTION!!!
When I was talking to him about it, he said that the LY7T is the same paint code for Audi and comes up in his computer as Audi/ Volkswagen. He said the paint was used on 92-95 Volkswagons and Audi cars.

Is this true? Did Porsche share paint colors?

Obviously I'm real nervous now!

Yes, definitely.

I just finished a summer long re-paint project on my car, and the color (original paint code LO41) come up on the paint dealer's system as a "Volkswagen" black. I have heard similar comments from others.

Cool!
I thought maybe he had inhaled too much paint fumes!
