My gas guage is not working correctly, sometimes it reads nothing at all and then it will jump to about half and stay there for a week or until it feels like moving again, then it will jump around again but it never goes over half. I have heard grounding issues? Anything else it could be?

Clean the contacts on the sender, it takes two minutes and works great. I had the same problem.
