why in columbus, and not cincinatti? for an inspection? there is mag in northwest/dublin that is a dealership. there is byers imports in east thats a dealership. there is tom hatem(?) i think thats what it is that works on mostly bmw race cars that is in grandview a little west of osu campus(they always have atleast one porsche in their lot also). and i cant remember the name of another japanese/germana/british/swedish car shop thats on dublin road in upper arlington. i can try to get the name of the foreign place, and try to reinforce my memory of the name of the bmw place if you need me to. there is also a place in delaware, but im not sure what they do, but friends have gone there.

Chip Vance, I believe the name of his shop is Auto Assets, IIRC.. Over on the West side sets up a lot of Porsche race cars and really knows his stuff. I don't use him but my buddy Chip (Chipster around here) does and is very pleased with him. It appears they are working on a new web site, but for now http://www.autoassets.com/ has the addy and phone number. He's in Powell.. is that close enough?

You might also have him try a shop called "The North End Wrench". There is a guy there named Dave who is very knowlegable. I have only used him for a PPI, but the previous owners of both my cars have used him, and swear by his services.

I have heard good things about Dave - IIRC his last name is Wenger. (?) I have also met him at a couple of autocrosses, and trust him more than Auto Assets or Acceleration, from my limited experience speaking with all of them.

I also would shy away from Auto Assets. I've had problems in the past with delays during race season. The race cars get the first attention. Also Chip has had a falling out with the owners and was kicked off the race team, so there is some bad blood in the shop. The prices are also starting to get out of hand. I think it's now $75-$90 an hour for labor.

I use Ed Pimm for all my work great prices and honest service. 873-3401 is the number.
