thing is, i has no copper/brass shavings in the oil or on the magnet for the oilplug. It starts right up and runs fine, idles good etc. It just sounds like someone is rolling marbles around in there. I wonder if i have a wristpin going or something.

A ticking lifter will be rather high pitched. You can put a screw driver on the cam cover (other end on your ear) and the sound will get louder as you put the screwdriver closer to the ticking lifter.

If the sound is deeper than you probably have the #2 rod bearing toasted. If so you can pull the pan gasket and see what you find. If it is bad you many need a new crank. At worst it will seize and destry the entire block.

thing is, ive heard rod knock, this sounds like someones throwing marbles around in a bucket or something. I have no clue what it is. IM going to pull the balance belt and start it to see if its a shaft problem or something. It could be a bent valve but it runs great. I need to check compression as well. IM not pulling the motor if i dont have to. If its a rod though, its getting a total rebuild.
