Default *My Car is now for sale*

My parents have been looking at a car for my sister and in the process have found 2 incredible deals on low mileage 03 Mini S's. The one they aren't getting for her is tempting me. Before I decide whether or not to go for it, I'm going to put out a feeler post.

My car is an 84 with almost 85K miles on it. Mechanically it is amazing, but doesn't have any records. It pulls strong all the way to redline and there are no suspension problems. I upgraded to 951 springs in the spring of this year. Cosmetically I would say the car is maybe a 5 out of 10. It was orignally a guards red car, but the PO took it to Maaco and had it sprayed black. It wasn't done well to say the least. The only sprayed the exterior of the car and the door sills. It has factory sport seats, but both are going to need to be recovered and the Dash has the mandatory cracks. I just installed a new AM/FM/CD/XM stereo in it that has an auxilary input for an iPod or other MP3 player.

I will post pics as soon as I get a chance.

What do you think I can get out of my car and if you are interested PM me.

Noooo... don't do it. the 944s are soo much cooler and better looking then a mini cooper. Also mini coopers are all over the road like $h*t. BE original and keep the 944 or find one that is low milage and in great shape or maybe even a 968. Sorry just my own 2 cents.

Anyway wizkid 918 sounds about right on price. The thing i think that hurt you the most is the crappy macco re-paint.

The paint itself doesn't look bad at all... there are just a couple places where there are rock chips or things like that where you can see the red coming through. I agree that the 944 is much more unique and better looking, but its very hard to pass up a deal like I found.

I drove a 944 n/a for a couple years and since getting rid of it have had the opportunity to drive a mini copper s a number of times. Personally I didn't like the mini nearly as much. It is a good car, but its fairly heavy and doesn't have the kind of "feel" the 944 does - the porsche really connects you with the road whereas the mini does not do this very well. That being said it is a capable car and with a couple easy mods can be pretty quick.

So I am going to go ahead and put the car up for sale and see what kind of response that I get. I'm going to ask $2500

i would start higher, unless you want it to go to a good home, you might find a sucker that oogles over the badge and has a spare 3500 laying around. then when somebody knows better, or if a rennlister wants it, you can always drop your price.
