Default Confessions of a Former (and potentially future) HP Junkie (X-Post)

Hello All:

I just posted several pictures of my new track beast in the racing and DE forum. I really like my 44. You can see the pictures here: https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-and-drivers-education-forum/224842-confessions-of-a-former-and-potentially-future-hp-junkie.html

Thanks,

TD

Td, are you using a HANS device as well?

I think my next purchase will be an NA. Even at the AutoX I find myself trying to drive fast and not really concentrating on driving good. Maybe with the NA it will help me focus on driving good rather then driving fast.

Wes,

I am using the ISAAC H&N restraint system rather than the Hans. Look at the picture of my seat. Do you see those black devices hanging off the belt? That is the ISAAC restraint. If you look at the picture of my helmet in the passenger seat, you can see the brackets into which the ISAAC snaps. I preferred the ISAAC for my needs.

Wes,
TD has the Issac device. You can see it attached to the harness in one of the seat pics.

Now you just need to add the 44 to your sig.

A lightweight 944 is a quick reacting car. The stiff suspension combined with lightweight means the car and feel like it goes quick. However once you get familiar with it you cna feel and predict when these reactions happen.

I can also see how the door bar got in your way. Cutting it out for now was the right move.

If someone volunteers to help me make a sig with both the 44 and the 996, I would love to add it! You are spot on with the description of the 44. It reacts very quickly to your inputs, which means you can botch something up BUT it also means you can catch it if you have car control skills, which is what I am working on right now

Yes, the cutting out the door bar helped tremendously. At SP where most of the turns are right-handers, I didn't notice it at all this weekend. I still think it will bother me where there are more left-handers.

After reading the your story and seeing the pics of your car makes me want to make the 924S into a race car. I just don't have the money. So I will stick my dream of getting a supercharger for it.

It will be cheaper to race prep the 924S than to put a supercharger on it. Plust the car will be worth much more in resale.

I'd figure a "race prepared" 924S would worth at leat 6k for basic nothing special job to 10k for nice will prepared log book carrying race car. Both cars would "look" similar to TD's but difference in price would be in the details.

A 924S with a supercharger.... Well not that many folks would be buying those.
