Question Tire pressure with 225/45/17 & 255/40/17

Just replaced the stock 216/60/15's with 225/45/17 (front) & 255/40/17 (rear) on my 85 (early) 944. Anyone know the recommended tire pressure with the new wheels? (Normal street driving)

thx

Jim, I'd stick with the pressures as specified on the door jamb. You should be fine with 35psi.

Assuming this is a 944NA, I always ran street tires at 36 psi all the way around. On my '88 NA, I believe it had 30 front and 36 rear specified on the fuel door. I just never saw the sense in running those differing pressures in a car with nearly 50/50 weight distribution.

Drive it and watch for even wear.

All the above assumes correct wheel offsets, car is properly aligned, etc.

I agree with kevin as that is what i do with my 17" rims and tires when they are on the car.
