Nothing?! I thought for sure some of you guys would light up at the chance to damn the chances for that car to sell for so much money.

Would still be kind of interesting to own.

Well, it has a small description for the price and everything.

Yeah, I thought that was kind of puzzling as well.

This car was listed in the Rennlist Race Car Classifieds for some time. I recall the asking price was in the $35-38k range.

Probably worth that kind of money, but it will take awhile to find the right buyer. I personally would probably save up another $5k or so and look for a Turbo Cup car.

I remember seeing this particular car at a Club Race at Road America about 10-11 years ago. As mentioned, there are only 7 of these cars around, so when you see one, it catches your attention.

I don't see it as any less significant a car than the Turbo Cup cars. The Cup cars may have more of a following as it were, so the salability may be better but I would be plenty happy to have just about any purpose built Porsche factory racecar in my garage.

I would actually take the S2 race car over the turbo cup just so I can have a Street car and the race car in my garage. Man I wish I had an extra 40K laying around

Certainly both examples (an S2 Club Sport and an Escort/Turbo Cup) are great track cars. And in the case of the US S2 Club Sport and US Escort Turbo, are virtually identical cars except for the Engine and Transmission.

Having rode in both an S2 Club Sport and an Escort Turbo, and having been on the track in club races with both E Class S2 Club Sport/Firehawk cars and with D Class 944 Turbo Cup/Escort cars, the Turbo version is quite a bit faster (more power). Probably between 2-4 seconds a lap depending on tracks.

However, there is also some value in the actual racing history. The fact the the S2s were series winners in the Firehawk may make it more of a curio than an Escort Turbo (which were not very successful in the SCCA Playboy Escort series) or a Canadian Turbo Cup (since it was a one make series).
