I guess I wasn't being specific enough... I was more or less referring to both. Of course belts, tires etc will be an area you want to look at, but again rarely will you find a pristine pamper'd car like such as these that haven't had that stuff done already. As far as the weather striping and stuff, it's a crap shoot as to what it will look like. I've seen weather stripping on cars that were much newer than mine look much worse than mine. For the most part if it's sitting in a garage with a cover on it, the sun isn't going to shorten it's lifespan as much as a new car sitting in the sun every day.

Hey Guys, I'm alive!

I'm out at school, which blows because I hate school -- love cars -- but hate school. NEED school to get the cars. Eventually... Thank God for social life. Is there any way I can tell college stories without my dad being able to read my posts??

Oh, so this isn't completely OT -- That car looked phenominal! Even though I dislike the cabrio look, that car is freakin awesome... God I need money.

Shaynes- I'm thinking about bidding just to run you up....! ALL of your cars COMBINED don't have enough miles to call average for a 2000.... HTF did you end up w/such pristine examples of such fine automobiles anyway??? Damn!

Seriously though- good luck- IF I had a snowball's chance in hell, I WOULD bid, but, since I'm in >$30K in my Turbo S that wouldn't bring $12K right now as/is, I think I'll stick to one European Money Pit...

Tell ya what... you promise to post lots of pics & to remove one of those pockets to see if it hads the FULL M490 speaker set-up OR the partial (like MANY came with) & I'll keep my nose out of it...

Hey- does anyone know if this car, or, ANY S2's, came w/M030???

Glad to see there are still some incredibly nice examples of these cars out there,.. I personally LOVE the cabs.... Sport seats no less... I probably wouldn't even swap those Porsche seats out, even if I had the money.... They are cool- wonder if those are the full 12-way elec adj & heated, or, what....? BTW- most people don't realize this, but, those aren't nearly as heavy as people would think.... I'm still wanting some Momo Street Racer's, or comparable, but, the Sports really aren't that bad weightwise, &, are really cool...

My PO had to replace the tires, the timing belt and an oil seal. That's what convinced him to sell the car as he hadn't driven it very much and those repairs were costly. The weatherstripping is in fabulous shape. Good Luck!

...hmmmmm.... almost 4 days left... I'm gonna have to say 21,100... But, I'm not gonna be one to try to drive it up- was just kidding when I posted that earlier- I wouldn't do that to someone... well... actuially I WOULD, but, NOT to a fellow rennlister... In all honesty, I think it's worth EVERY BIT of $25K, when you consider the condition, the fact that it's a convertible, & what else you could get for that price... I mean, what convertible COULD you get nowdays for $25K? I can't think of anything that really compares well... The S2 convertible was over $50K in '90 & '91 w/several examples hitting ~$53K... I remember a few people on this list had window stickers for their S2 cabs that exceeded $50K by a decent margin... There was a Turbo S that sold for ~$22K a year or so ago- had ~6K miles on it & 17" cup II's, etc- I wanted that car BADLY.... I want a LOT of cars BADLY....

the sticker price was real high because of the lousy dollar, not so much because of the car. they couldnt sell them in 89 &90. remember porsche was on the verge of baknruptcy before the boxster.

i dont think too many of those cars sold for sticker. you could get a miata in 90 for about 20k after markups. i got 30% off the sticker on my then brandnew leftover 90 RX7 convert when i bought it in jul/aug 91. Damian's speed yellow 968 cab sat on the lot for a year or so. The 300ZX came out in 90 and it was about 30k loaded, there was the 91 legend coupe putting out 200hp with an awesome front suspension that would keep up with the porsche on the road. You get the idea.

Also, for high 20s you could get a boxster S, for low 20s a boxster.

What would I pay - probably I would bail out within the next $1k. You can get so much more of a car for a little bit more.

Yep, retracted bid - for what appears to be a bogus reason! On top of that, we know the dealer didn't bid over 17,200 and retacto's max was 17800. The plot thickens!
