Default Clock Backlight Help Needed

Can someone tell me where the bulb the illuminates the dash clock is supposed to sit?

Should I be putting it directly behind the clock, or some other place?

I replaced my broken clock with a functioning clock while swapping out my broken Climate Control Unit, but the now functioning clock is not backlit. My assumption is that I didn't place the bulb in the right place.

help!

BTW -

I did do a search on this already, but none of the threads specifically addresses where to put the bulb. Maybe it is obvious to everyone else, but I'm playing stupid today...

The bulb is inserted into a socket in the back of the clock housing.

ah....

How come I didn't see that? Maybe I really am playing stupid? I really didn't see an obvious spot behind the clock for the bulb to go.

hmm...I'm going to attach a pick highlighting the places I think it could go (I should have done this originally).

Feel free to give me a "yah" or "Nay" on the place I highlight...

wait a second!!! does the bulb go inside of the clock? Like in the picture on the right?

maybe this explains things to me. i thought the bulb was the free floating one i saw, but now I think that is supposed to be lighting the cigarette lighter. I think the bulb goes in the black thing next to where the plug connection is...

i didn't fiddle with that. i guess it opens up to expose the bulb in there? hope someone confirms this for me...

And it is a bear to get out sometimes.
Just twist 90° counter clockwise to free it. IIRC

Search will eventually find you what you need.

Be careful ! I managed to crack my LCD display the first time I tried to get the bulb out. Cost about $75 for a replacement in which the bulb was also hard to remove so I gave up and left well enough alone.
