Default 944 Connectors, any same as 928 O2 Sensor? Part numbers? WTB?

Dear water-cooled brothers...

In a thread I started on the 928 forum (3-Wire O2 Sensor Plug Connectors - WTB?) I was referred over here by GlenL and by dr bob. Both suggested that there may be a 944 part that meets my needs.

I'm looking to create a plug connector that will plug in-line with the 02 sensor and the sensor's engine harness connector. The later 928's (MY '87+) use a three-wire sensor with a rubbery molded plug. After many hours of web searching I have not found any places from which the connector shell can be bought. In the 928 world the harness-end of the connector is part of the main LH/EZK engine harness and there are no harness available for butchery right now. In fact the 928 world is devoid of replacement harness connectors - at least from a PET standpoint.

See post #8 for a picture of the kind of in-line connector and the plug type.

In 944 World PET shows connector heaven (PET 944(2) MG 9, SG 2, 902-50 through 902-56) and I wonder if the connector shell and pins are available as 944 parts. In particular this one looks like it - but PET pictures are not to be trusted:

Does anyone know if the 944 has the type of 3-pin connector for which I'm looking?

Or, what the part number might be for the harness-end. (I can snip the end off of an old sensor. But, if both ends are available then I'd prefer to get a set.)

Or, if anyone has a mated pair of these connectors and is willing to snip them from an otherwise unusable harness, let's talk.

Thanks in advance.

I do know mine was a barrel-type connector when I replaced it. I just got a genaric Bosch at Autozone and it worked great ($17). Unfortuantely, I have the 1 wire system, not the later 944 3 wire sensor.
