WTB: 944 rolling chassis Clean titled,(northeast)
Title says it all...
I would like to buy or I will pick up for free, any 944- 951 CLEAN TITLE rolling chassis in my area.I would like to week end autocross racer project and still be able to drive it to the event when i need it,
So if you have a 944- 951 rolling shell lying around Ill be happy to pick it up.
I am located in Montreal Canada , so any shell from eastern part of canada or northeast united states, I will go as far as NY or Boston for the right shell.
thank you
Peter

If it's for a track car, why do you care it the title is clean or not?
In Ontario, alot of the "shady" cars are brought over from Quebec. The two provinces don't share vehicle information database.

what about driving the car to the track instead of using my tow rig and 24' enclosed trailerto take my mildly modified 944 to the local autocross and time trial event?at 2.70$ /gallon, I will be more than happy to drive this car to the track and save all that hassle. this is why I want it clean titled.

thats a great idea but I got all of my race parts to transfer into the chassis, I run a race shop and this project will be my next project, this is why I need just a rolling shell, i dont want to fill the shop with tons of parts I dont need and I will have to sell after, thanks for considering driving all the way to Montreal, you should come one day, we've got one of the best nightlife in the world, very open minded and safe place.
Thanks for the offer.

just to be clean titled ,title on hand, and to be able to roll if put on a dolley, and look like a real car since i have to go thru the customs and inspection process. but jeeez your car sounds interesting but waaaayyyy too far . if you ever come to Montreal or new england regions for races We may be able to to something but it will be PITA for you to do this.
Im pretty sure you will get a deal soon.

Aren't you forgetting something? Not all chassis are the same? 83's, 86's 89's they are all different?? I would hope that you aren't going to slap an '83 built car parts on an 89? Maybe it is just me.
More details would help!

Thanks, ,well all I want for now, is a good base for a long term project, I will start to strip the shell, clean it, seam weld, cage it, paint it and then will start collecting parts to build her up, I am not in a hurry ,Its just that I like the way 944s are driving and love the look of it. ill build a 89 if its an 89 shell , and ill build an 84 if its a 84 shell. But for that I need to find a good chassis first.
Thanks
Peter

If you want a 924, I have a friend in Plattsburgh with a pretty solid one. It has manual windows and is pretty bare bones. There is an trans and engine in the car, but the engine has a hole in the side of the block the size of your fist. Plattsburgh is only about 90 minutes from montreal. Let me know if you are interested and I can talk to him.
