Default Ever sleep in the hatch of your 944?

this goes back to 944fest... I didn't bring a tent, so I slept in the hatch. it was surprisingly comfortable, feet near the left tail light, head near the passenger seat... crack the sunroof a little for ventilation and cool air, and you're set. I slept really well!

just decided to see who else has done so...

My ex and i made use of the rear hatch area on a few occasions.

I actually find sleeping in the drivers seat quiet uncomfortable. The seats are great to sit in awake...but i just cant fall asleep in them (i guess a good thing late at night!). I have never however slept in the rear hatch (though thought of it once while at work waiting for the next truck to arrive).

I've tried it, didn't particularly care for it.

At the 12 Hours of Sebring, I didn't have a tent, so my girlfriend and I slept in the hatch of my 83. It was really friggin' hot (Florida), so we cracked open the hatch, sunroof, and windows. A little claustrophobic at first, but I got used to it.

At 944 Fest, some may have noticed that i slept in the passenger seat of my car. Not bad when you bring a pillow and blanket - just stuff clothes, etc. in the gaps so you can turn into the corner.

Okay, who has the pic of Brad sleeping in his hatch at 944fest '04? I slept in the lodge at the fest this year, say what you will about the hatch...the lodge was air conditioned.

in about 83 i went camping with a bunch of guys. they brought a musty ratty old tent that sleeps 10 and tried to squeeze 11 beer and bean infested guys in it. I slept in the hatch of my '77 celica gt liftback that had louvers on the rear window.

in the morning i creaked the hatch like a clam to see what was happening. at about the time breakfast was ready i emerged from my cozy coccoon fully rested and rejuvenated while my friends were having allergy attacks from all the mildew in the tent.

Yup, I was overseas most of the summer. Now I'm just hanging around waiting for classes to start again. If there is a 'fest next year, I'd love to go.

I came home from a red-eye flight once and realised that I'd given my friend the only key to my apartment. Figuring that one in the morning was not the time to get the key from my friend, I slept in the 951 in the parking lot of my complex. The sport seats are surprisingly comfortable to sleep in if they are reclined all the way.

I did that in my now sold 84 944.

I was doing backpacking trip in the grand canyon and we got there late at night and had to leave early.

So... I slept in the hatch rathar than breaking out the tent. For me it was cool so I had the roof and hatch closed. Firgured it would be tight, but the glass make it feel open even with my head in the back corner. Did this to streach out fully with my fee in the front drivers seat area. I also had all my gear in the car too. I used covering cloths I had in there and the car cover rather than my sleeping bag. Not bad really.

I've never fallen asleep in the 44, but when I used to have my 95 camaro, it had everything I needed in the back. I had a blanket, chandge of clothes, toothbrush and a few other things. I don't know how many times I have fallen alseep in that, and it wasn't half bad.
