You might look for a vacuum leak. If your only symptom is a high idle.

Good Luck,

Chuck

The TPS is a simple thing that seems to cause a lot of problems. Operation is explained here:

Has anyone mucked with the idle stop on the carb..er..throttle body?

Are you serious, I can get the TB off either car in 10 minutes? Now on an S2 all bets are off.

Just kidding Mavfan.. no harm intended, just poking a little fun.

Vacuum lines were completely redone about 300 miles ago.. I'll check to see if one may have worked loose.. Thanks.

When I last tried on the 83, one of the allen head bolts was in such a convoluted postion that I couldn't get to it. What do you use?

To replace the TPS on the S2, you can either avoid TB removal by using a stubby screwdriver to access the TPS bolts, or remove the TB. On the S2, the allen head bolts are actually more accessible, only once I had them out the TB wouldn't come off until I gave it a good whack and it finally came loose.

I usually just use a 1/4" rachet, 10" long extension, and a socket allen. I had to take it off the 951 3 times one morning. I heard S2's were the hard ones. I don't have the airbox on the 951, that helps a lot right there.
