Default My First Porsche

Hey guys. My name is Gabe and I am a student at The Ohio State University. I've been into Porsche's ever since I was a little kid and spent countless hours learning everything I could about them. After wanting a 944 for the past few years, I finally bought one. It is a 1987 Alpine White 944 with only 70k miles on it. I bought it from a Ferrari mechanic friend of mine who has kept the car immaculate the entire time he has owned it. It recently had all the belts changed and a new water pump was installed along with a few other things at Auto Assets in Columbus. There is not a single thing wrong with the car except for a tiny crack in the dash. I have been reading threads on this forum for a couple years now, but I have never posted since I didn't really have a Porsche. I look forward to learning more on here, trying to contribute what I can, and I hope to get to know some of you guys since it seems like there are quite a few people on here from Ohio. I'll try to post some pictures of my car tomorrow after I do a thorough washing, waxing, and detailing.

Cool, welcome to the board. You should have come up to 944fest if you could have since you were so close.

Clint, I'm at Litchfield beach right now...but I'm leaving tomorrow morning.

Welcome Gabe!! ooo Alpine white.. nice. Yes, pics are a requirement.

Ohio.. don't ask me! There are ALOT of 944/951 guys in Ohio, we (well i'm from northern ohio, but honorary SOW) call ourselves SOW (Southern Ohio Wrenchworkers), since all of them live in Southern Ohio. (Cinci, Columbus and inbetween) There are the oddballs like me, Dan P. and Stuggart 944 that live in Northern Ohio. Basically we're everywhere in the state of Ohio, but alot of them in the Southern part.

Welcome to the fold and don't be afraid to ask questions! Just stay away from the turbo cars, they will empty your wallet faster than your ex-g/f did.

Ferrari mechanics understand the need for maintenance, so it must be in pretty good shape. Sounds like a good one! How much?

Former Ohioan, but always good to see another guy with a good P-car from the Buckeye State. My sis is at OSU right now too, studying Business and Nursing, great school and hell of a football team.

Congrats on the car, you'll love it. The only bad thing about them is that they star obsessions. I've been through 4 so far, I suppose I could count it as 5 with the one that I traded away and then traded back for again. (Thanks Dan!)

Thanks for the welcome guys! I paid $6,200 for it, which I thought was a pretty decent price consider the condition of the car, mileage, and all of the recent maintenance on it. I tried to get some decent pictures today, but it was too overcast around here, so I'll definitely get some up tomorrow.
