Default OMG - Booooooooost!

Finally got the engine broken in, but couldn't get boost. I figured it was the jury-rigged gaskets around the wastegate, so I ordered new ones from Paragon (thanx Jason!). When I went to put them in, the wastegate was loose as the two bolts holding it to the adapter (it's a TiAL) had worked loose. Put everything back together and took it out for a spin.

Holy ****! I'm running stock injectors and haven't fine tuned the ARC2 yet and this thing is a rocket! I thought I had my EBC adjusted correctly, but I was at 20 lbs of boost in a heartbeat! I pulled over and readjusted to about 17 lbs and she still moves like a scalded dog! Wow. I can't wait to feel how this thing pulls when I get the 75# injectors and tune it properly. I'm in heaven!

Same thing just happened to me. The gaskets burnt out, so I ordered the copper ones. ONE BOLT was holding the tial to the adaptor plate. . . and it had MAYBE 1/4 turn left before it came out!

Just remember that boost is addictive and that over a period of time, you may need to increase your dosage to compensate for your increasing need, fix

Derek:
That's the problem, I have already moved upon my need for a bigger fix with the SFR Stage 2! It won't be long before I'm yanking that one out and going for a Stage 4

Hahaha, 20lbs of boost is wonderful. I run 22psi, and it's the best feeling in the world... well, maybe not quite, but it's awfully bloody close!
17psi should be just as much fun if properly tuned. Have fun!

Seems to be a very common problem with these gaskets burning and the bolts backing. I think almost everyone who installs a Tial goes back in within the first month to R/R.
