It could be a Fiat Dino, which is still a cool car. Even the coupe.

Good luck,

Damn, its been left outside! You know the work and cost its gonna need to get the Dino back to normal! It would have been a super fun project, if it weren't for the ruined panels. Thats gonna be a pain. There just happens to be an article on a Dino restoration in this months Forza. Apparently the body was using lead for filler. Apparently its a super pain to get rid of and replace with modern body filler. Shame really.

It could be a 92 Taurus, for that matter, but it sure won't be a Ferrari.

This is one of the funniest threads in a while!

Lol, i love it when this happens, the deal always has a downside or somethign that isn't as advertised, i've gone through many. sorry it isn't working out as planned, the time after getting let down from a deal always is a bummer. but it was fun to dream, no?

Me personally, I wouldn't care what kind of condition the cars are in or what model they are. They're not american and they're free!

If worse comes to worse, you can still have something to practice bodywork on and/or painting! There is always an upside!

Keep us posted, if you can....post some pictures!

IF he doesn't sell it to the other guy...its mine..which i will probably turn around and sell it to someone else. The Porsche...well..this guy isn't the brightest...it isn't a 911 but a rusted out 914. It needs an engine and a lot of body. The dino has been left outside, and it has some rust on it as well (both front quarter panels and the bumper are corroding..)..

As it goes though, I might still get the Dino...not so sure about the 914...he said he wants to think about the offer he got and would let me know in a week....so...i wait and twiddle my thumbs
Pass on the 914. It won't be worth the money it will cost you to drive acrossed two states and back with a trailer (trailer expense, gas, etc). When people describe a 914, "perfect" means some hidden rust, "minor rust" means hidden holes, "fairly rusty" means it is two steps away from being a pile of dirt. The fact that it has not motor means there isn't much for you to salvage and sell for cash. Don't even think about restoring that, unless you suddenly come into some money.

Get pics of the Dino. You will need to find out if it is a Fiat Dino or a Ferrari Dino. If it is the Ferrari, even in bad shape it is worth much more than that $5K figure. Collectors would be on that like stink for just parts, if not for a full resto. If you had to get a loan for the $5K or borrow it from someone, you could roll the car over for more than twice that in a second, more if you are willing to work it. But, don't plan on restoring it because it will cost a ton of cash. But you really need to establish what it is, from the way the story changed it could be a "fiero" with some sort of "dina" body kit to make it look like a Ferrari, if you know what I mean.

That was a bit harsh and uncalled for.

So basically this isn't going to happen. Hmmm let me see, take 5 grand or give it away? Whats to think about? As for some lumpy 914.......Oh well this thread had a predictable outcome from the start.

The "Ferrari" 246 Dino was never badged a Ferrari. The Fiat Dinos were badged Fiat, but the same car coming from Ferrari was only badged as a Dino. There was never a Ferrari badge present if my knowledge is correct. If there is prancing horse badging, its been added later.

let's hope it's a 264. i think a dingleberry is better looking than the 308

and tim, i won't say "i told you so" because i'm sure you're getting enough of that. good luck with whatever happens.

the sad truth is that if something is too good to be true, it usually is.
