Finally... paint
After endless hours of prepping, I finally have my car (mostly) painted...
It turned out very good I think. The paint went down nice and smooth. The main issue is little bits of dust and dirt I have to colorsand out....
I'm not actually done though, I still have to paint the bumpers, mirror parts etc., but those will have to wait until after I get back from "vacation" (a two week opening session for an MBA program... should keep me equally as busy as trying to get paint this car has been).
These are some pics right after the third (and final) coat of clear:

Hey Andrew,
I used Glasurit products throughout. After all the prep sanding, I primed with the 283-160 etch primer, then two coats of the 285-60 primer\filler. I left that for a few days and wet sanded everything with P600 and then shot the -55 line base (two coats, with a bit extra here and there until it looked right) and then finished with 923-455 clear, three pretty decent coats. I think I was right on the edge of running it in a few areas. My PVC rockerguard (original) was in good shape, so I kept it and just gave it a very good scuff. It was a little damaged near the leading edges, and for those areas I used 3M rockerguard and just blended it in. I was happy with the result.
Good luck with yours! Keep me posted about the progress. As I mentioned if the first post, I'm going to be away the next couple of weeks, so I may only be able to visit here on an irregular basis until then.
Andy,
Thanks for the compliments... but it's not really talent, I've found it's just patience!
Thanks!

Hey Dan,
Thanks for the words of encouragement, it was looking at the job you did on Pete's old S2 that got me started on this...
Jeff, thanks, I know what you mean, the only reason I did black was that that was the original color...
Nathan, I'm not experienced with painting any other color, so Im not really the best to answer if black is actually harder to paint. I don't think so, but what I do believe is that it shows every little imperfection very easily.
From what I hear, metallics are sometimes difficult to spray the base uniformly. Sometimes if you don't get it right, you end up with "tiger striping". I see this sometimes on other cars...

Black is a bitch to get nice - it'll show EVERY last little bead, ripple, fisheye, overspray, orange peel, etc. and magnify it about 100X. It's also brutally hard to keep clean, but I WILL say, there's nothing quite like a perfect - and clean - black car. Especially at night. Ohhhhh yeaaaa. Pure sex.
Problem is, only 1 out of maybe 5,000 even have the POTENTIAL to look that good (scratches, swirls, etc. ruin it) and of those, maybe only 1 in 1,000 of those get the requesite cleaning, detailing, etc.
