Default Just won $3700 at the casino....what do I buy?

Hit the small end of a jackpot (my 4 Aces beating Aces full of Queens) and now I got $3700 burning a hole in my pocket. Just finished putting on new Konis all the way around so I dont need that but maybe some other suspension stuff???

Interestingly I think $3700 is the exact cost of the Stage IV Vitesse kit..maybe its a sign.

Don't buy anything, put it in savings ya' bonehead! It's money you didn't expect to have, save it or invest it - don't blow it on something stupid just becaue you can.

Oh well, I guess that settles it. Let's put it into depreciating assets or better still into car parts that will be worth pennies on the dollar the moment you unwrap them. Great idea.

So Im supposed to take financial advice from a guy who claims to have 2 money pits???? Maybe you should sell your money pits first and invest your money before giving financial advice.

And BTW....when did Rennlist become a place to receive financial advice and not Porsche advice????

Maybe if you invested it then you could someday have two money pits also!

Price out a headgasket replacement. Subtract that from the 3700 and spend the rest.

Go back and see if you can double it Then you can invest half and spend the other half on your Porsche

Kidding of course,

Andial, you're missing the point. Chris got it right. I actually do quite well for myself and am actually selling one of the money pits because I recognize it as a losing battle (although I'm keeping the other for now to avoid being Porsche-less - that just wouldn't be right!)

My point is, you just got handed a nice lump of cash that you weren't planning on having. Why is your first impulse to go blow it on stupid material posessions? Unless there's something that you really would like very much and have been saving for, why the rush to go blow it?

Wise people pay themselves before anyone else. Fools do the opposite.

Here is what I would do. Put half of it into a good mutual fund for a year and you will be more then happen. Then you can get some better stuff for the Porsche.
