I got away with 5% all the way around. It not exatially ~legal~, but it looks great.
The back hatch window is soo big they had to use two sheets of tint. They did a real good job, the seam is in line with one of the heater elements.

Use a high quality (I prefer 3M) film and get it done the max of the legal limit which varies by state. Usually it is around 10-18% for the rear and 5% for the sides. The number is the amount of visible light it lets in.

Dan, if you find a place that can do our rear hatch glass let me know. I am out of things to do with this car...tinting windows was something i was considering to keep my wallet empty. Any idea how much it would cost?
Will i see you August 7th at Nassau Collesium? Cant wait to get back out there!

I had mine tinted 15% and the legal limit is 35%. 3 days after I got it done I was driving home from a friends one night and got pulled over. Got the car searched and the whole deal because I'm a kid driving a Porsche. Had to get the tint taken off the next day and pretty much wasted $300.

The 3M stuff is phenomenal. I believe that it is also lifetime warrantied as well. The place that I'll be taking my 951 to said that if it EVER faded, cracked, delaminated, turned purple or whatever - ever, I could bring it back and have it redone free of charge - or to any other 3M authorized installer and they wouldn't bitch about it either since supposedly they get reimursed by 3M or something. Don't know if the guy was blowing smoke off my ***, but it makes for good marketing anyway. I'm going with 3M probably a 20% all around. Personally I think too dark looks ghetto as hell and having the back darker than the sides looks stupid, but that's just personal taste. In my opinion the tint levels should match and anything beyond nicely smoked is just gangbanga.
